Schedule Laser Hair Removal

A Little Science

Laser hair removal works through a process called selective photothermolysis, where laser energy targets pigment (melanin) in the hair follicle. The light converts to heat, damaging the follicle so it cannot continue producing hair. Because the follicle is only fully attached to its blood supply during the anagen (active growth) phase, treatments are most effective at this stage. Only a portion of your hairs are in the anagen phase at any given time, which is why multiple sessions are required for best results.

Our laser is FDA-cleared for hair reduction and uses cryogen cooling technology to protect the skin while delivering controlled heat to the follicle. Treatments are quick, usually five to twenty minutes, depending on the area. Most people describe the sensation as a warm snap or a hot rubber band feeling. There is no downtime, and clients can return to normal activities right after the appointment with just a few exceptions.

How many treatments?

Most clients need between 6 and 10 sessions, spaced four to eight weeks apart, depending on the area being treated. You may notice a 10–25% reduction after your first session, with more visible thinning and slower regrowth beginning around sessions three to four. Full results continue to develop over time, and some clients, especially those treating hormonally influenced areas such as the face, chest, or abdomen, benefit from occasional maintenance sessions once or twice per year.

Laser hair removal is most effective when performed as a series, so this service is offered in packages. We provide packages of 3 sessions, 6 sessions, as well as individual treatments. If you’re just beginning your laser journey, we strongly recommend the 6-session package to achieve the best results.

Results

Laser hair removal is FDA-approved as a hair reduction technique. This means laser is great a reducing hair growth and density by 80-90%. A successful laser hair removal treatment will get rid of most, but rarely all, of your hair.

Results vary based on hair color, density, hormones, and genetics. Some regrowth over the years is normal, but consistency with your treatment schedule produces reliable and predictable improvements.

Things to Note:

What Can We Treat?

Laser hair removal can be performed on most areas of the body:

  • Bikini

  • Back

  • Chest

  • Stomach

  • Arms

  • Neck

  • Brazilian

  • Inside nose

  • Toes

It is most effective on dark hair, as the laser requires pigment to detect the follicle. Meaning blonde, white, gray, and sometimes red hairs do not respond to laser because they lack enough melanin. We offer both Alex and YAG:NG wavelengths with our laser, meaning we can treat all skin tones, including darker tones.

  1. Sometimes clients confuse laser hair removal with electrolysis, but they are two different treatments. Laser treats many hairs at once and provides hair reduction, making it ideal for large areas. Electrolysis treats one follicle at a time and is the only method recognized by the FDA as permanent hair removal.

  2. A combination plan using both electrolysis and laser is often the fastest and most effective for long-term results, especially for those with coarse, dense hair.

  3. Clients with recent sun exposure, sunburn, photosensitizing medication use, or pregnancy are generally not candidates.
